Nestled in heart of Niagara On The Lake, Ontario is a company that’s been making what this connoisseur believes to be the best tasting old fashioned jams and marmalades available anywhere.
Greaves was founded in 1927 and continues to use time-honoured recipes and processes for making their fabulous products with no pectin or preservatives added. Being located in the Niagara Fruit Belt has its advantages as the land is fertile and offers up an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables from which Greaves crafts the most delectable preserves your taste buds are likely to experience.
Their gift packaging is beautiful and they still operate their retail store from the original location which has its own sense of history and charm.
My personal favourite is their strawberry/rhubarb jam followed closely by their seville orange marmalade – but that’s only because I truly love marmalade, perhaps even more than Paddington Bear! Ah, the joys of British genes.
Greaves lemon marmalade is worth a savouring or three and you’ll want to be sure to check out their gift baskets which are perfect for special occasions.
Enjoy Greaves with love because that’s how it’s made.
